Stabilization
Trauma foundations and the stabilization phase: trauma neurobiology, grounding and orientation, resource spotting, somatic resourcing, and the readiness criteria a client should meet before any memory work.
Professional Training · On Demand
Learn the Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model from Dr. Karol Darsa, the psychologist who developed it. The course gives you 22 hours 20 minutes of recorded instruction, fifteen full client sessions to watch, and APA CE credit for psychologists.

RITTM, the Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model, was developed by Dr. Karol Darsa, Psy.D., in her work with trauma survivors at Reconnect Center. It takes specific tools from EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapies, Gestalt and parts work and sequences them into one three-phase approach.
The model answers the questions clinicians face in the room: which tool a particular client can tolerate, when to use it, and what to do when they can’t. It pairs top-down work with bottom-up, body-based work, because trauma lives in the body as well as in memory.
The three modules of the course are the three phases of the model, taught in order.
Each part is cut into 30-minute study segments with a short checkpoint after each, and a scored post-test closes each module. Progress syncs to your account, so twenty minutes on your phone counts.
Trauma foundations and the stabilization phase: trauma neurobiology, grounding and orientation, resource spotting, somatic resourcing, and the readiness criteria a client should meet before any memory work.
Eye spots and eye movements, structured check-ins, somatic memory, frame-by-frame processing, empty chair work, body tracking and parts work.
The rationale for processing and how medication can affect it, child parts and pendulation, attachment repair, anger and inhabiting parts, co-occurring addiction, and measuring client progress.
Most trainings give you one or two demonstrations. This one gives you a library: fifteen full sessions with three real clients, following each client from the first session on.
The clients consented to the use of their sessions for clinical training, and the recordings are for enrolled participants only.
The full library comes with the Clinical Training and the Live Practicum track. The Stabilization Training includes three stabilization-phase sessions.
The training is for licensed and prelicensed mental health professionals who treat trauma. It is taught at an intermediate level, and no prior EMDR or Brainspotting training is required.
The Stabilization Training is open more broadly, to front-line staff in treatment settings: counselors, addiction counselors, residential and milieu staff, and case managers.
This course does not certify you in EMDR or Brainspotting. Those certifications are available only through EMDRIA and Brainspotting International. The training qualifies you to practice within the RITTM framework, and the Stabilization certificate covers stabilization-phase skills only.
One-time prices in US dollars. You enroll on the training site and pay by card through Stripe’s secure checkout, and your sign-in email arrives within minutes. Any sales tax is added at checkout.

Licensed psychologist, California PSY 19847 · Developer of RITTM
Dr. Darsa specializes in complex trauma, attachment and developmental trauma, and dissociative disorders. She is the founder and executive director of Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Center and the developer of RITTM. She has trained clinicians nationally through PESI, TPN Health and Nefesh International, and she is the author of The Trauma Map (2020) and The Trauma Bridge (2025), the clinical manual included with the training.
“RITTM has truly changed the way I approach trauma treatment. Dr. Karol Darsa beautifully integrates EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, and IFS in a way that is both powerful and practical. I believed in the training so much that I put all of the therapists across my programs through it. RITTM has become an underlying framework for how our teams understand and treat trauma, and its impact on our clinical work has been invaluable.”
“This is the best trauma training I’ve ever done, and I’ve done a lot. I feel like I really have some amazing techniques to use now.”
“It really increased my confidence as a trauma therapist. The training validated a lot of what I was already doing, but also provided me with a lot more tools.”
Yes, for psychologists. The full eleven-part program carries 22 APA CE credits. The training is hosted in collaboration with Clover Educational Consulting Group, which is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists and maintains responsibility for this program and its content. Credit applies to the Clinical Training and to the recorded training within the Live Practicum track. The Stabilization Training, the demonstration library and the live practicum are not part of the CE program.
It is recorded and available on demand. You can enroll any time, start right after purchase and work at your own pace on any device with a modern web browser. The Live Practicum track adds six hours of live video sessions with Dr. Darsa in a small group, with dates provided after enrollment.
Watch all eleven parts in full at normal speed or slower, answer the embedded checkpoint questions, and pass the post-test at the end of each module with 75% or higher. Each post-test may be attempted up to three times. There is no partial credit.
No. Those certifications are available only through EMDRIA and Brainspotting International. RITTM draws on tools from EMDR, Brainspotting, somatic therapies, Gestalt and parts work, and this training qualifies you to practice within the RITTM framework.
You can request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have watched less than 20% of the program's videos, including the demonstration sessions, and completed fewer than 20% of its checkpoints. No refund is available once a certificate has been issued. The live practicum portion has its own terms, set out in the full refund policy on the enrollment page.
If you want the complete model for your own caseload, the Clinical Training covers all eleven parts and carries the CE credit. The Stabilization Training suits front-line staff and anyone focused on helping clients stabilize, and its full price counts toward an upgrade later. The Live Practicum track adds supervised practice and case consultation with Dr. Darsa. If you're unsure, you can ask Dr. Darsa's office through the enrollment page.
